Assiniboia town council meeting briefs for November 14

The Town of Assiniboia does here by proclaim the the week of November 18-26 as Saskatchewan Multicultural Week.

ASSINIBOIA - Assiniboia Town Council gathered for a meeting on November 14.

Present at the table were: Mayor Sharon Schauenberg; Councilors: Renee Clermont, Peter Kordus, Graham Harvey, Patrick Grondin, Kent Fettes, Robert Ellert; CAO Clint Mauthe; and Kerri Martin.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

Public acknowledgements were given to Assiniboia Times.

The agenda was accepted and adopted as presented. Moved by Grondin/Fettes. The minutes of last council meeting were accepted and adopted as presented. Moved by Ellert/ Grondin.

The minutes of the Recreation Committee meeting of August 9, the minutes of the Prince of Wales Board meeting of September 14 and the minutes of the Assiniboia and District Museum board of September 28 were all accepted and adopted as read.  Moved by Fettes/Kordus.

Proclamation: The Town of Assiniboia does here by proclaim the the week of November 18-26 as Saskatchewan Multicultural Week.

Correspondence was received from: the 2022 Settlement Municipal Share- Housing Projects; Prairie Villa Inc. regarding a notice of AGM (held November 23); an invitation to the Festival of Trees; and information on the  Catholic Women’s League Nativity exhibit, to be held on December 1. A motion was made to purchase a wreath to be donated to the auction. Moved by Ellert/Kordus.

Reports of admininistrative was given by Clint Mauthe. Accepted as read.

The water report was accepted as read.The list of paid accounts was accepted as read.  Moved by Harvey/Kordus.

Request for Decision

Snow contractors rates - council received updated rates for 2024. Accepted by Ellert/Fettes.

Building official appointments were received, and moved by Grondin/Ellert.

A discretionary use development permit was approved for a home occupation application in a R1- Low Density residential zoning district.

Council received an audit letter from Dudley & Co. Accepted by Harvey/Fettes.

Reports were given by each councillor and Mayor Schauenberg as to the meetings and events they had attended since last meeting.

The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting of Assiniboia town council will be held Tuesday, November 28.
