Weyburn Concert Series is looking forward to an exciting and entertaining 2010-2011 season. This year's Concert Series offers seven concerts encompassing a wide variety of entertainment genres.

Kicking off the season will be the Celtic Tenors who will be performing on October 25. Their concert will include a variety of classical, folk, Irish and pop music. Pianists Alsessio Bax and Lucille Chung will perform November 2. They have performed around the world as recitalists, but following their marriage have been performing as a piano duo adding the two-piano and one-piano-four-hands format to their solo careers.

Vocalist Henri Loiselle and pianist/comedian Martin Janovski will be returning to Weyburn on November 29. In addition to touring and performing, Loiselle also farms near Saskatoon and has become known as Saskatchewan's own singing farmer. Janovski's repertoire of music and comedy never fails to delight the audience. Together they form an entertaining team.

The fourth concert for the season will feature Weyburn's own Meagan Milatz on February 27, 2011. She began her piano studies at age five with Cherith Alexander and since then has progressed very quickly. Milatz has already won numerous awards including having been chosen to represent Saskatchewan at the National Music Festival, twice. She has also attended the Morningside Music Bridge program held in Calgary in 2008 and Gdansk, Poland in 2009.

The Foothill Brass Quintet will be appearing March 24, 2011. Founded in Calgary, the quintet promises to deliver astonishing full-impact entertainment. The concert combines classical training, dramatics, improvisation, singing and audience engagement.

Blackthorn is a group whose repertoire celebrates the traditional music of Ireland and Scotland as well as folk music of England and French Canada. Lively jigs and reels, ballads, and bouncy sing-a-longs will bring music to life with humour and fun on April 4, 2011.

Brothers from Different Mothers will make their appearance at the final concert of the season on April 13, 2011. The Brothers were voted Seattle's funniest comedy team and this contemporary show promises laughter and action packed audience participation.

All concerts will be held in the Weyburn Comprehensive School Cafetorium at 7:30 p.m. except the Meagan Milatz Concert which will be held at 2 p.m.

Season tickets for Weyburn Concert Series are still available and can be purchased at Superior Office Products or by phoning 842-2444. Any tickets not used at a previous concert may be used at any remaining concerts.
