聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 Students of White Bear Education Complex (WBEC) hosted their annual Christmas Concert on Friday, Dec. 18, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The White Bear Health Staff kicked off the show by performing 鈥淲inter Wonderland鈥 and 鈥淟ittle Drummer Boy鈥 in support of the students鈥 showcase.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The Kindergarten and grade one classes then took to the stage performing the 鈥淩eindeer Pokey,鈥 which involved sticking their right hoof in, out, and shaken all about.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 This was followed by the grade one and two class performing 鈥淛ingle Bells鈥 and 鈥淪anta鈥檚 Coming to Town.鈥
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Junior Chief and Council decided to put on a short skit, 鈥淎 Cell Phone for Santa,鈥 which brought laughter as Mrs. Claus convinces Santa to take a cell phone with him on his Christmas run. When Santa attempts to use the phone, he gets nearly everyone but her including Queen Elizabeth II, Principal Sherri Cappo, and hockey player Ethan Bear, all played by members of the Junior Chief and Council.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Eventually Santa gets a hold of Mrs. Claus, while those he accidentally contacted were excited to receive a phone call from Santa Claus.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The grade three and four classes then took to the stage singing 鈥淲hat Does the Reindeer Say?鈥 based off the unlikely 2013 hit, 鈥淲hat Does the Fox Say?鈥 by Ylvis.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Students from grades five and six sang two hits with 鈥淭he Grinch Song鈥 and 鈥淪hake it up.鈥
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 This was followed by the grade seven and eight classes reciting their newly fashioned 鈥溾楾was the Night Before Christmas.鈥
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 With students learning the Nakota language, students sang a song, identified colours, and recited their numbers to showcase what they have learned so far of the language.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The show was wrapped up with the White Bear Youth Broadcasting, which can be heard occasionally on 97.7 FM. The students involved sang 鈥淛ingle Bell Rock鈥 and 鈥淯p on the Roof Top鈥 for the crowd.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Overall the performance was greatly enjoyed by all in attendance and was a great way to get into the festive season of Christmas.
