The Weyburn Public Library has several upcoming programs to help fill the summer months.
The Summer Reading Program is for children aged six to 12 and takes place Monday to Thursday until August 15. The theme for this year's program is Destination Jungle.
Although the program began on July 5, children can register anytime.
For every eight books that participants read this summer they will receive a coupon for a free treat from Dairy Queen or Zippy Mart. Reading logs, stickers, an activity book and poster are all available to pick-up at the library.
Every Friday, children aged three to five are invited to a session filled with stories, crafts and songs. Sessions run 10 to 10:45 a.m. and 2 to 2:45 p.m.
On Monday, July 19 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Prairie Dog Doug Campbell will be performing free of charge. This talented children's performer will entertain kiddies with games ranging from "Hockey Pucky Hokey Pokey" to fishing with gummy worms.
On Friday, August 6 at 3 p.m. the library will be serving up an eight-foot sundae, complete with toppings and sprinkles.
In addition to the Summer Reading Program there are some adult programs at the library which will be cropping-up soon.
On July 13 the knitting club will be meeting. All ages and skill levels are welcome.
On Saturday, July 17 Pharmasave is putting on a presentation at 9:30 a.m. Topics include bubble packing, the pharmacist's role in health, medical safety and prescriptive rights.
