Watch out Weyburn, a T.rex is coming to town! "Scotty" the T.rex will be on display at the Soo Line Historical Museum from Aug. 10 to Nov. 30, as part of the Royal Saskatchewan Museum travelling exhibits.Scotty is famous far beyond Saskatchewan's borders, and has travelled to several locations across the province during his tour. First discovered in 1991 in the Frenchman River Valley of Saskatchewan, this amazing find will bring back the mystery and excitement of the museum.On display will be Scotty's large skull. Other fossils of this discovery are still being prepared by paleontologists at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum. These bones take a while to prepare because most of them are surrounded by cement-like ironstone and sandstone.It will take a full day for Scotty to be prepared for display, so residents are asked to wait until Aug. 11 until they start visiting this travelling exhibit. There is lots of time to visit and revisit the exhibit, as it will stay at the Soo Line Historical Museum for three months.During their visit to the Museum, residents can also check out the Charles Wilson silver collection, which has claimed fame as being the largest in the world, and recent additions to the Souris Valley artifacts such as the James Eadie mural and the contents of a time capsule.
