Scholarship winners awarded during Assiniboia Music Festival

Music students received scholarships, trophies and plaques at the Stars of the Festival event.

ASSINIBOIA - A number of music students and groups receives scholarships during the 88th annual Assiniboia and District Music Festival.

A $50 Assiniboia Community and District Choir scholarship was won by Nora Jane Wilson. A $50 Assiniboia and District Arts Council scholarship was won by Kady Kuntz.

A $150 Assiniboia Knights of Columbus scholarship, for piano ages 15 and over, was won by William Grondin.

There were two $50 Assiniboia and District Ministerial Association scholarships presented. Alivia Karst received the instrumental Christian music scholarship, and Kady Kuntz received the vocal Christian music scholarship.

There were four $50 scholarships and a plaque awarded by the Assiniboia and District Music Festival. Duet scholarships were presented to Samuel and Ethan Delorme; and Cassia and Heather Delorme. A deserving competitor scholarship was presented to Nora Jane Wilson.  

A solo vocal scholarship was received by Hannah Rhodes. The Family Music Award plaque was presented to Amelia, Ian, and Elise Hanstock.

A $50 Assiniboia Kinette Club scholarship, for piano ages nine and 10, was presented to Ezekiel McCaslin. A $50 Assiniboia Kinsmen Club scholarship, for piano solo, sonata, sonatina, was presented to Jude Daechsel.

Two $50 Rotary Club scholarships for deserving instrumental musicians were presented to Jusin Kenes and Isabella McCaslin. A $100 Catholic Women’s League Margaret Lewans Memorial Scholarship, for piano, Canadian music, was presented to Kady Kuntz.

A $50 Richard and Erlinda Blanchette, Global Direct Realty Inc. scholarship for Sacred Music was presented to Kady Kuntz and Alivia Karst.

Two $50 Haywire Electric scholarships for deserving competitor for the Royal Conservatory of Music or open, was presented to Amelia Hanstock and first-time competitor Ian Hanstock.

A $25 Keeper Trophy and plaque was presented by Karen Reisner to Kady Kuntz for musical theatre.

A $50 Nelon GM scholarship for vocal or speech arts was presented to Amelia Hanstock. A $50 Order of the Eastern Star, for piano ages 13 and 14, was presented to Amelia Hanstock. A $50 Piche-Hawkins Grondin Funeral Chapels scholarship for deserving string or instrumental was presented to Maisy and Peter Rhodes.

Two $50 Ross Funeral Chapel scholarships were presented. The piano concert group was awarded to Ethan Delorme. The piano recital, ages 13 and over, was awarded to Jude Daechsel and Peyton Petersen.

A $50 Royal Canadian Legion scholarship for instrumental was awarded to Sonora Lemieux. A $50 St. John’s Masonic Lodge scholarship, for piano ages 11 and 12, was presented to Ava Coghill. A $200 William Shurniak Memorial Scholarship, for the most deserving piano, was awarded to Amanda Blohm and Kady Kuntz. The recipients were invited to perform at Shurniak Art Gallery at a later date.

A $50 Â鶹ÊÓƵland Co-op scholarship for piano, recital ages 12 and under, was presented to Elliana Daechsel, and a scholarship for piano for baroque was presented to Nate Rasmussen. A $100 Sunset Acres Inc. scholarship, for piano ages 15 to 16, was presented to Amanda Blohm.

Two $50 Town of Assiniboia scholarship was presented. Amanda Blohm won for solo vocal, and Amelia, Ian and Elise Hanstock won for any chorus.
