The Hearts and Hands Quilting Guild has once again produced a quilt for the United Way Estevan鈥檚 telethon.
The quilt, which is currently on display at Henders Drugs, was created by guild members Linda Jones, Eileen McKersie and Avis Dronsfield. It鈥檚 a black quilt with a variety of designs and patterns.
鈥淲e had some blocks that were given to us, and then we added more blocks to it. We had some colours, and we went with the star design,鈥 said Jones.
It will be raffled off, and the winner will be announced during the telethon, which takes place Oct. 16-17.聽
Jones is pleased with how the quilt turned out, and she hopes they sell a lot of tickets, because the money goes to a good cause.
鈥淲e get satisfaction about knowing that we鈥檝e done our part to donate to help others in this community,鈥 she said.
Many hours of work went into the quilt. Before the COVID-19 pandemic hit Saskatchewan, the guild鈥檚 members would meet every Thursday, and the three members who worked on it were able to get the quilt done before the restrictions were in place.
鈥淩ight after the United Way, we start planning for the next year鈥檚 quilt,鈥 Jones said.
Tickets are $2 each or three for $5, and can be purchased at Henders. Members have been selling tickets at the Farmer鈥檚 Market. They will be available during the telethon as well.
