The Soo Line Historical Museum has begun restoring the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) caboose that sits alongside the building.The Museum was given $1,000 from CPR to restore the aging caboose. The restoration began on July 3 when Eric and Marion Loucks replaced the plywood siding, reframed the windows and primed the wood. It was then painted by several young volunteers.Museum Manager Joan Gregory said that the restoration project will probably cost $2,500.Gregory said that the Museum will begin giving tours of the old caboose once the paint dries.Built in 1948, the Museum requested the old caboose from CPR in 1990.
