An Estevan woman has received a lot of support in her quest to be named the Inked Magazine Cover Girl for 2021.
Karissa Baldwin currently sits second in her group; voting will end at 10 p.m. local time on Thursday. She needs to finish in the top 10 to advance to the next round.
Baldwin said she wanted to enter last year but decided against it. Once she saw that entries were being accepted for this year, she decided to take a shot.
In her first round, she came in first, and the support has continued.
鈥淭o be in first and second the whole time has been pretty good. It鈥檚 been pretty surprising,鈥 said Baldwin.
Everyone she knows has been very supportive thus far.
Baldwin said tattoos make people unique and they鈥檙e beautiful. The ink enhances a person鈥檚 appearance and gives people a chance to express themselves.
Her first tattoo was a collection of Japanese symbols on her lower back that translate to 鈥淒addy鈥檚 girl.鈥
Her favourite tattoo, though, is of her dad鈥檚 writing on her inner bicep. Her sister has the same tattoo.
Baldwin has nine tattoos and would like to get more.
She hopes other women will enter the contest in the future, and she received ideas and inspiration for future tattoos.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a good way to see a whole bunch of beautiful women and beautiful tattoos,鈥 said Baldwin.
