Library offers film festival viewings and author readings

The Weyburn Public Library is hosting authors and film festival presentations over the next few weeks. Authors Robin and Arlene Karpan will be hosting a workshop about self-publication and reading from their new book on Saturday, August 28.

Authors Robin and Arlene Karpan will be hosting a workshop about self-publication and reading from their new book on Saturday, August 28.

The workshop will focus on the rewards and risks of self-publication, viability, top quality production and effective marketing. The workshop will begin at 9 a.m.

The authors will read from their book "Saskatchewan Wild" and present several wildlife photos beginning at 3:30 p.m.

On September 1, the Library's Armchair Travel series continues with a trip across the pond to England. The presentation begins at 7 p.m.

There will be a viewing of award-winning films from the Yorkton Film Festival on Saturday, September 11. Children's films will be shown at 2 p.m. An adult viewing will take place during Seniors Week, September 27 to October 3.

Two author readings will take place in September, Plynn Gutman on the 23rd and Brenda Niskala on the 29th. Both readings begin at 7 p.m.
