Saskatchewan born singer/songwriter Matt Goud released his debut full-length solo album "Gather No Dust" under the name Northcote on April 19. He is currently touring the country and is expected to make one stop in Regina on April 23 at the Exchange.

Originally from Carlyle, Goud's ability to connect and adapt to a broad audience is what many say sets him apart. The material offers a unique commentary on life and its movement and stages told as an aspiring young prairie poet.

"I think of my writing as thoughtful but fun...it's something I enjoy and I think I need," laughed Goud.

His new record was tracked in rural Â鶹ÊÓƵern Ontario in November 2010 with Producer Dan Weston. While staying committed to a minimal and atmospheric approach to writing and recording, "Gather No Dust" fittingly ventures into new territory both in sonics and lyrics. Goud welcomes a stack of guest players and friends to add musical depth to songs about youth and the wandering involved. The sentiments of the album are vast; from highs to lows, here's to there's, and should come as no surprise since Goud claims the songwriting inspiration occurred within a year that saw him living in Regina, Yellowknife, NT, Vancouver, BC, and now currently in Victoria, BC.

Goud is joined by John Jeffery (drums), Tyler Schwindt (guitar/bass) and John Gerrard (bass).
