WAWOTA - Gloria Edwards has returned home after spending most of the month of December in Edmonton. While there, she visited with Greg and Lori Edwards and family, and daughter Paula Pedersen and family. 

Visiting with Audrey McVicar for Christmas were Dale and Heather McVicar, Logan McVicar and Regan, all from Saskatoon. 

Word has been received of the passing of Dorothy Dennis of Weyburn. She was 98 years old and the wife of the late Ray Dennis. They were Parkman residents before moving to Weyburn. They had four children, 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren 

Carol Westphal spent Christmas and New Year’s with Brett and Kim Westphal at Wrentham, Alta. 

Sympathy to Dave and Heather (Corkish) and family on the passing of Dave’s father, Nicholas of Regina. He passed away on Dec. 27 at the age of 80 years. 

Meredith and Lynne Swanson spent Christmas with Darren and Barb Swanson at Kenosee Lake. 

Sympathy to Elgin Pryce and all family members and friends of the late June Engelke of Estevan-Lampman. She passed away on Jan. 1 at the age of 92 years. Her funeral service was held on Jan. 5. She was well known here in Wawota and as one said, “A real gem!” 

Congratulations to Meredith and Lynne Swanson, who celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Dec. 28. Family members gathered at the Swanson home for a surprise celebration. 

Kevin and Bev Kay attended the wedding of Stuart Kay and Carolyn Cole. The wedding took place at Picton, Ont., on Dec. 18. 

Sympathy to Garth and Lorraine Taylor and family on the passing of Garth’s aunt Edythe Cowan of Oyen, Alta. She was 97 years old. 

Word has been received of the sudden passing of Alice Dennis of Winnipeg. She was 80 years old and the oldest daughter of Arthur and Nellie Dennis of the Parkman area.
