WAWOTA - Congratulations to Theoren West who participated in a national golf tournament at Morgan Creek Golf Course in Surrey, B.C. He finished in 8th place. He was awarded the Maple Leaf Junior Tour Saskatchewan Order of Merit for most points in the season.

The community was saddened to hear the news that Marten Wright of Red Deer passed away at an Edmonton hospital.

He passed away on Oct. 10 at the age of 55. He was the oldest child of Dick and Dianne Wright.

Visiting with Betty Drumm recently were her children, Jodi Nixon from Saskatoon and Paul Drumm from Regina.

Don and Judy Steinke and family attended the funeral mass for Judy's mother Rose Farkas. Rose was originally from Whitewood and had been in Deer View Lodge. She passed away on Oct. 4 at the age of 94. Her mass was at St. Joe's Roman Catholic Church in Whitewood on Oct. 14.

Jean Bogner has returned home after spending two weeks on the West Coast. She visited with her daughters, Bonnie and Laurie on Vancouver Island and several other family members in the area

Sympathy to the family of Gertie Condie. Gertie passed away in the general hospital in Regina on Oct. 10 at the age of 84. She was married to the late Don Wight and Ivan Condie. A graveside service was held at the Walpole Cemetery on Oct. 14.

Sherri Haines, who came to Wawota from Ontario, spent a few years in our area before returning home to Thornby, Ont.

Marie Vail and her son, Brian Vail from Hitterdal, Minn., attended the wedding of Sara Vail (David's daughter) and Herry Hershuma in Regina on the weekend.  Marie visited with family in Winnipeg for the Thanksgiving week.
