Many years ago my son failed a science test. He said that he got wrong answers to the questions. In school work, if you have wrong answers to the right questions, then you are in trouble. How about outside the school? In our real life situations, it doesn't always work out that way, right answers to right questions. It happens all the time that a right answer is given to a wrong question or a wrong answer to a right question. When we watch a TV debate, especially US presidential debates, regardless of the moderator's questions, the candidate answers with whatever he wants to say. And it sometimes works out. This is one of reasons why A grade students are not always A grade in society.
At the church conference meeting, I chatted with a fellow minister about the problems of the church. It has agreed that there were many problems in the church. But it was hard to find a right answer to any problem, because the question was not a right one. If there is a right question, there is always a right answer. But to the wrong question, it is hard to give the right answer. Depending on the question, the answer is different. However on debates of political issues, the politician already has a right answer to any question asked. Before the question, the answer is already there. Sometimes It makes people embarrassed or harassed. But on the other hand, so often it makes people surprised or amazed.
On the billboard on the road way, it said, "Jesus is the answer!" What is the question? What is a question to fit for this answer? Before knowing the question, the answer has already been given. What an easy test it is! When I taught at a school many decades ago, I had tried this type of game with my students in a math class, giving an answer first then letting them make a question. For example, the right answer is 3, then what question would be to get this answer? Surprisingly there are not a few questions, but millions of questions, that have this answer. I think that actually myriads of mathematical problems can have this same answer. It is amazing and awesome.
Yes, it is! This is why and how Jesus can be the answer to all kinds of questions and problems of our life. It is true that if you know the answer, it is much easier to find out the question than to try to do the other way around; searching for many different answers to a problem. If you believe that Jesus is the answer to every and any kind of question, then try to figure out what is your problem? Whatever problem it may be, financial, physical, social or spiritual, the answer is already given. Jesus is the answer! It is good and amazing news.
And at the same time it is an innovative implementation of Christianity in our real life. That is the reason why Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life" (John 14:6).
