Truly the beautiful season of spring has arrived. Blue skies and twinkling stars are beautiful. Flowing rivers and green fields are beautiful. Leafy trees and budding plants are beautiful. Green grass and yellow dandelions are also beautiful. Indeed God has created everything to be beautiful. A single tree has its own beauty. On the other hand, the bush and forest have their collective beauty as well. A flower has its own beauty and fragrance. And a garden has an orchestral and harmonic beauty and grandeur. Thus nature has not only individual beauty but communal and harmonic beauty too. So, confronted by nature, people are awed and admired its beauty.
Infants are beautiful. Toddlers are cute. Preteens are curious and energetic. Teenagers are ambitious and hopeful. Adults are meritorious, mature and professional to their roles and works. And senior citizens are noble and elegant. Thus each stage of human life is beautiful and has its own merits. So the Bible says, "God has made everything beautiful for its own time" (Ecclesiastes 3:11a). Beauty does not mean that it is always the same. Natural beauty is changing all the time depending on time and season. So people, as one of God's creatures, have to change according to one's own stage in the life journey in order to keep their own beauty.
However people try hard to make up their own beauty. To want to be beautiful and young looking are human nature. So people spend a lot of money, time and energy to make themselves beautiful, young looking and nice. People want to be young and nice forever. But everyone knows that cannot be and will not work out. Nevertheless people strive for this day and night anyway. That is the reason why the cosmetic and plastic surgery industries have never had a recession worldwide. Make-up beauty, artificial beauty and commercialized beauty, these kinds of beauty are not real beauty. Real beauty comes from complying with the law of nature, natural beauty.
True beauty is expressed by itself rather than needing to be made up. Real beauty always comes out from the inside, rather the other way around. The person who has a beautiful mind is the most beautiful one in the world. Although physical appearances will change according to times and situations, the beautiful mind will be the same all the time. In fact, with development and maturity, the beautiful mind can become more beautiful. And eventually that beauty will express itself and emanate through the outside of body. Each stage of life is beautiful. To be natural is the clue of how to keep beauty throughout the whole stages of life. Indeed God has made everything beautiful in its own time.
