Hello everyone! I am a new minister of Carlyle United Church. I am so glad to connect with you through UC (United Church) Chimes. I also thank you to the Observer to allow me to contribute the weekly columns. I hope that it will be continued to keep in touch with you and I need your response too. Still we Canadians are living in one of the best countries in the world. The Charter of Freedoms and Rights guarantees human essential freedoms and rights. I know how and why the basic freedoms and rights are so important, because I have experienced to live in the political situation of limited freedoms and rights before coming to Canada.

On CBC Radio Morning Show, a police officer said, "Driving a car is not right, it's privilege." Yes, indeed, it is privilege, special right. Everyone and anyone in our Country who is over 14 years of age have the right to drive a car. But some are not able to enjoy driving due to their own particular reason such as disability, failure of getting driver's license, or others. So having a privilege is understood as special right, advantage, and favor that have been taken or given to a certain person. Some may have it through their own works or achievements. Or some may have been given it by chance or good luck. No matter how it may be given to you. When you get it, you should use and enjoy it as much as much as you can. I believe that everyone has each own unique and special privilege that others may not have. So everyone has the freedom and right to enjoy their own privilege.

Actually everyone has the freedom and right to believe in God. But not all have the belief in God. Some trust their own intelligence or ability. Some believe nothing, but actually they believe a little bit of everything. Or some think that there is no God's existence, they call themselves atheists. Truly it belongs to each one's freedom and right and depends on their choice whether or not to believe in God. Therefore having faith in God is not people's right but it is sure privilege, special right. So Christians have a special right, privilege to enjoy their life with God. I believe that living with God is more joyful than driving a car.
