Photos: Large crowd enjoys family centre's fall night

The Estevan Early Years Family Resource Centre had a great crowd for its annual Family Festive Fall Night.

ESTEVAN - An October snowstorm didn't prevent the Estevan Early Years Family Resource Centre (EEYFRC) from having a great crowd for its annual Family Festive Fall Night.

Executive director Sydney Wanner said they had about 115 people present. Normally they would attract around 150 people for one of these activities, and many present would be regulars. Some first-time visitors attended the fall celebration.

"We usually have a few of our same families come, but events like this also bring out new families, just because it's after hours," said Wanner.

Young people enjoyed a variety of Halloween and fall-themed activities. Wanner believes a cookie-decorating station was among the biggest highlights for the kids.

"They get to do the icing and the sprinkles, and then they get to eat the cookies afterwards," said Wanner.

A pumpkin craft, painting area, sensory bins and a water table were also popular, she said. The drop-in area was open.

Wanner noted the EEYFRC has activities for several holidays throughout the year, as well as special occasions like Halloween, Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day.
