ESTEVAN - The Estevan branch of the Royal Canadian Legion presented a couple of cheques earlier this week to organizations that make a positive difference in the lives of young people.
The first was for $6,000 to the No. 2901 Estevan (Elks) PPCLI Army Cadet Corps. The presentation occurred after the cadets' year-end sunset service Tuesday night.
The other was to the local pipes and drums band, which performs at a number of events and fundraisers in the community each year.
