ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service have handled calls for a collision and an assault this week, among others.

Officers responded to a motor vehicle collision in central Estevan on Wednesday, in which a northbound vehicle slid through an intersection and collided with a westbound vehicle as a result. Both vehicles were towed due to the damages sustained. No injuries reported.

Police responded to a complaint of an unwanted woman at residence in the Souris Avenue North area. On arrival, a 19-year-old woman from Regina was arrested for assault. She was also found to have other outstanding warrants for her arrest. She was intoxicated and lodged in cells to be released on conditions when sober.

A fraud/scam was reported that involved the caller pleading with the complainant to send a large sum of money to assist with expenses, related to an accident involving a relative. As a scam was suspected, the money was not sent. The public is reminded to be aware of these as well as the many other types of scams, and to not provide any information of any kind no matter how insistent or threatening they are.

Members attended to a lounge for a report of a male refusing to leave. On arrival the male left on his own, but was warned of the consequences of failing to leave a licensed premise under the Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act.
