An idea that has been talked about for three years is finally coming to fruition, and it will be a very welcome addition to the community of Kenosee Lake. The very first production of the Moose Mountain Players will be held at the Rec Hall, Moose Mountain Provincial Park May 10th and 11th.
Evelyn Cullum joined the Cornerstone Theatre in 1985, Terri Field was a prompter and Heather Vermeersh was also part of the group, and while they really enjoyed it, travelling back and forth didn’t mesh well with busy lives. This was one of the reasons they are excited to be taking part in this new venture, the Moose Mountain Players. There is a great deal of talent in the Kenosee area and when you attend their first production, you will discover just how much.
D.K. Molar: the Devious Dentist by Billy St. John, Pioneer Drama Service, Inc is a farcical melodrama set in the 1950’s and promises to bring intrigue and laughter. Cast and Crew include Robyn Roy, Ian Laird, Heather Vermeersh, Terri Field, Brenda Daku, Gerard Hengen, Evelyn Cullum, Ron Bennet, Ben Dubois, Jeff Morton and Geri Laird.Â
Both evenings are planned as a Pub Night with Cocktails at 7 pm and the performance at 8 pm so no minors are allowed. Snacks and appetizers will be provided both evenings along with adult beverages for purchase. Tickets are $20 and are limited quantities so be sure to stop by the Kenosee Inn, or the Kenosee MiniMart to get yours or speak to cast members. All funds raised will stay in the Kenosee community, being used to help the Moose Mountain Players purchase props, costumes, sound and technical equipment, and also to make improvements to the Rec Hall stage area and in future the building itself.
