Update: Two collisions occur on Highway 39 in 90 minutes

Neither collision resulted in life-threatening injuries.

Two collisions occurred on Highway 39 on Feb. 29.

SOUTHEAST SASKATCHEWAN - Members of the RCMP were called to a pair of collisions on Highway 39 in southeast Saskatchewan on Thursday.

According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, at approximately 3:50 p.m., the Estevan RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision near Hitchcock. Emergency crews responded. An investigation determined a semi collided with the back of a vehicle travelling in front of it.

The vehicle driver was taken to hospital with injuries that the Saskatchewan RCMP said were non-life-threatening. The driver of the semi did not report injuries to police.

After investigation, the semi driver was issued a ticket for driving without due care and attention.

Then at approximately 5:10 p.m., the Radville RCMP and other emeregency crews received a report of a collision on Highway 39 north of Midale. Investigation determined a pick-up truck struck the back of an SUV.

According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, the driver and passenger of the SUV were taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. The driver of the pick-up truck reported minor injuries to police.

As a result of investigation, the driver of the pick-up truck was issued a ticket for following a vehicle closer than what is reasonable and safe.
