Two blocks of Fourth Street are slated to be closed starting Wednesday as part of the downtown revitalization project.

ESTEVAN - The City of Estevan has announced that part of Fourth Street will be closed starting Wednesday, with no through traffic between 12th Avenue and Souris Avenue Â鶹ÊÓƵ, due to the downtown revitalization project.

Sidewalks will remain open for all pedestrian traffic at this time.

"It is important to follow all construction site signage as access around the site will be restricted. The public is requested not enter the construction zone for everyone’s safety," the city said in an email Wednesday morning.

If emergency services require access through the site, the city said the contractor will make every attempt to allow it.

Also, the city said the 12th Avenue and Third Street back alley, including the north side intersection, will be closed for the morning due to road construction. The public is advised to find an alternate route during this time.

No further details were immediately released.
