Â鶹ÊÓƵeast water polo players help Team Sask win silver

SURREY, B.C. - Waterpolo Canada held its 15-and-under Western National Championships in Surrey, B.C. in early May.

Six teams from across Western Canada attended. The Team Sask. girls, who included southeast Saskatchewan athletes Mahlyn Bomberak and Jennika Linthicum, secured the silver medal.

In the round robin, Team Saskatchewan defeated the Edmonton Tsunami 22-3 and Surrey 12-9. In the semifinal round, they won 18-5 over Surrey.

Saskatchewan lost to the Calgary Renegades 16-7 in the gold-medal game. Linthicum and Bomberak scored three each in the final.

With the result, Saskatchewan advanced to nationals in Montreal from July 2-7.
