Update: Severe thunderstorm watch ends in south Sask

Severe thunderstorm activity, notably near the international border, was expected to develop late in the afternoon or during the evening hours.

UPDATE:

The severe thunderstorm watch for southern Saskatchewan has been lifted. A rainfall warning is in effect Wednesday for southwest Saskatchewan, including Swift Current, Maple Creek and Shaunavon.

SOUTHERN SASKATCHEWAN - A severe thunderstorm watch was issued Tuesday morning for most of southern Saskatchewan.

According to the advisory, severe thunderstorm activity, notably near the international border, was expected to develop late in the afternoon or during the evening hours.

"These storms are expected to move northwards during the late evening time period and may very well persist into the overnight hours across much of the south," the advisory statesd. 

The watch covered Regina, Moose Jaw, Estevan, Weyburn, Assiniboia, Swift Current and other areas. More than 100 RMs - and the communities within those RMs - were affected at various times.
