WEYBURN - A southeast Saskatchewan man who was on the run from police for over a year before being arrested in February has pleaded guilty to one of the charges he was facing.
Trent Raynard pleaded guilty to one count of breaking and entering on March 11 in Weyburn Provincial Court. Two other charges were stayed, one for possession of property obtained by crime and another for theft under $5,000.
He received an 18-month conditional sentence order followed by 12 months of probation.
Raynard still has multiple matters before the court.
Background: According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, on Feb. 24 at approximately 11 a.m., a Saskatchewan RCMP officer with Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan located and arrested Raynard in Stoughton. He was wanted by Carlyle RCMP in relation to a break and enter that occurred in November 2023.
