ESTEVAN — Residents had a chance to get up close with built and 3-D-printed radio-controlled aircrafts, trucks, boats and more as the Sun City Prop Busters hosted their annual static display at the Estevan Market Mall on April 12.
The event showcased a wide range of models built and operated by members of the Estevan-based radio control club, including planes, trucks, cars, boats and drones. Attendees also had the chance to try their hand at flying a model airplane through a flight simulator.
The display aimed to spark interest in the hobby and raise awareness about the club’s activities. Club members were on hand throughout the day to answer questions and share information about their operations, including their flying field located just east of Estevan.
The club is open to all ages and new members are welcome.
The Sun City Prop Busters operate in compliance with Transport Canada’s airspace regulations through their insurer, the Model Aeronautics Association of Canada (MAAC).
The club's flying season is set to begin in May. Those interested in joining or learning more can visit or contact club president Art Dougherty at 306-421-7023.
