SOUTHERN SASKATCHEWAN - For the first time this fall, a frost advisory was in effect throughout southern Saskatchewan.

Environment Canada issued the advisory Monday afternoon, stating patchy frost would occur overnight as a cooler autumn air mass settles over the area.

The agency noted the issuance of frost advisories, as well as mentions of frost in the public forecasts, end for the season on the last day of September.

People were urged to cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas.

The advisory came after several days of above-average temperatures in south Saskatchewan.

A wind warning was also in effect Monday for the southeast, including Estevan, Weyburn, Carlyle and Moosomin.
