UPDATE: Freezing rain warning lifted for the southeast

UPDATE: The freezing rain warning for the southeast region has been lifted.

SOUTHEAST SASKATCHEWAN - A freezing rain warning was in effect for southeast Saskatchewan Saturday and early Sunday. 

Regina, Estevan, Weyburn, Carlyle and Moosomin were among the urban municipalities affected by the advisory. A total of 58 RMs were covered. 

According to Environment Canada, a winter storm will bring a mix of snow, freezing rain and/or rain to the region beginning late Saturday evening and continuing into Sunday morning.

Freezing rain is expected to last one to six hours, and total snowfall is expected to be five to 10 centimetres. Maximum wind gusts are forecasted to be 50-60 kilometres per hour. 

"Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery."
