ESTEVAN — Estevan Police Service members dealt with assault on Wednesday.

A report of a woman causing a disturbance and assaulting staff came from one of the local facilities. Members responded and arrested and charged a 45-year-old Estevan woman with assault. She was released with a July court date.

The same day a counterfeit $100 bill was turned in to police by one of our local banks. The public and businesses are asked to be on the lookout for suspicious currency and report it to police. This matter is under investigation.

The EPS also responded to a report of a scam on a Facebook marketing site where a deposit of $50 was made to hold an item. The contact with the seller stopped after the deposit was made. The matter is under investigation.

The public is reminded to be very cautious and to make every effort to verify the origin and the legitimacy of the seller including their address and not to send any kind of deposit.

Members attended a residence on the north end of Estevan to a report of a woman who was possibly in distress. She was eventually found at another location and there were no issues.

EPS received the report of youth ringing doorbells on the north end of Estevan. They were located, spoken to and warned about their behaviour.
