ESTEVAN - The City of Estevan is encouraging businesses affected by last week's severe thunderstorm to reach out to the city, if they haven't done so already.

In a press release, the city noted the storm impacted several businesses adjacent to the construction zone in the 1100 and 1200 blocks of Fourth Street, where the downtown revitalization project is ongoing. The city went on to say it understands the frustration this has caused and wants to assure business owners that the city has been in contact with its prime contractor, ASL Paving, who has been actively working with the affected businesses to address issues arising from this situation.

Those in the two blocks of Fourth Street affected by this rain event are asked to call Jesse Gerhardt at 306-380-6046.

"The City of Estevan is committed to revitalizing our downtown area, and we appreciate the continued support and patience from our community as this important project progresses," the city said in the news release, which was issued Tuesday afternoon.

"We remain dedicated to ensuring that the project continues smoothly and that our downtown area becomes a vibrant, thriving space for everyone. We are confident that with the measures in place, we will overcome these challenges together."

The storm occurred late on Aug. 21.
