On Nov. 23 and 24 the Arcola Senior Boys Volleyball Team will be hosting the 2A Provincial Boys Volleyball competition. This day will see approximately 170 athletes plus their families and coaches attend.

Hello. Over several months I've been receiving the weekly newspaper paper and noticed that the news of Carlyle is not listed anymore. I am sadden over the loss of this important news worthy part of the paper.

While preparing for Sunday's Thanksgiving feast Hubbie brought me an unexpected treat: five huge vine-ripened raspberries. In October and well past the time when plucking fruit from the branches is usual.

Congratulations to the GF Kells Cross Country runners who competed in Carnduff last week. It was a cold, miserable day, but that didn't slow down our group. There were over 650 competitors at the meet and some categories had over 80 entries.

Prairie Place in Arcola was home to the 5th Annual Creative Tables for Cancer on Thursday, Oct. 4. With 40 tables seating at least eight people at each well over 320 people were present for the wonderful event.

Carlyle Elementary Community School will be hosting MCT's production of The Wizard of Oz on October 22nd - 26th. Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT), based in Missoula, Montana, is the nation's largest touring children's theatre.
