There will be 23 steers on display during the Weyburn 4-H Beef Club achievement day.

WEYBURN - The Weyburn 4-H Beef Club made their annual donation to the Weyburn Humane Society at their May meeting. Members bring various items that help to support the well being of the animals at the shelter. This has been something that the club and its members have proudly contributed to for several years now. 4-H members care about all types of animals including their livestock projects.

Plans are underway for achievement day. The date has been set for Saturday, July 2, at 9 a.m. at the Weyburn fair grounds. There will be 23 steers on display as well as members heifers and cow/calf pairs.

Members will compete in judging, grooming, showmanship, steer and heifer classes. Members will take part in the regional 4-H show which begins on Monday, July 4. The steers will be sold on Wednesday, July 6, at 2:30 p.m. This is your opportunity to support the 4-H community and buy some homegrown beef.

The club has also been doing fundraising for its club activities. Members are selling raffle tickets for a beef raffle. First place receives half a beef, while second and third will receive quarter each. Tickets are $10 each available from any Weyburn 4-H club beef member.
