Conducted energy weapon seized in investigation

Shortly after 9 p.m. on April 23, police were called to a parking lot in the 2900 block of 8 Street East for a report of a male that had threatened a woman with a conducted energy weapon.

SASKATOON - A male youth has been arrested following a report of a person armed with a conducted energy weapon in public last night.

Shortly after 9 p.m. on April 23, police were called to a parking lot in the 2900 block of 8 Street East for a report of a male that had threatened a woman with a conducted energy weapon; the suspect and victim were not known to one another. Upon arrival, officers located a male matching the suspect’s description nearby; he was arrested following a brief foot pursuit. A search of his person found a conducted energy weapon and bottles of alcohol.

As a result, the 17-year-old male youth has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon dangerous to public peace, unauthorized carry of a concealed prohibited weapon, and failure to comply with court-imposed conditions.
