Just over a month into the 2024/25 regular season and eight of the 12 teams in the league have a .500 record or better, so which of those teams is this week's number one?

The SportsCage SJHL Power Rankings are created by having contributors independently rank each team from No. 1 to No. 12, then averaging out the scores.

1. Weyburn Red Wings (7-4-0)

The good times kept rolling for the Red Wings as they won all three games in their recent 3 games in 3-night road trip, through Nipawin & Flin Flon.  The Wings scored 15 goals in those three wins but what is more impressive is the three goals against only on their roadie, as both Dazza Mitchell & Angelo Zol were stellar.

This Week: Oct. 22nd @ Humboldt/ Oct. 25th vs. Melville / Oct. 26th vs. Melfort

Top Scorer: Jerome Maharaj - 14 points in 8 games

2. Yorkton Terriers (8-3-0)

The Terriers played three games this past week and earned two wins, and they currently have scored the most goals in the league with also the best goal differential.  They head on the road this week for four road tests up north and to the West.

This Week: Oct. 22nd @ Flin Flon / Oct. 23rd @ La Ronge / Oct 25th & Oct 26th @ Kindersley

Top Scorer: Jaron Desnoyers - 18 points in 11 games

3. Melfort Mustangs (8-2-0)

The defending champs once again took care of business this past week by earning wins over Kindersley and their rivals from Nipawin, out-scoring them a combined 11-3 in the process.

This Week: Oct. 22nd vs. Battlefords / Oct. 25th @ Estevan / Oct. 26th @ Weyburn

Top Scorer: Logan Belton - 15 points in 10 games

4. Melville Millionaires (7-3-1)

The Moneymen felt their efforts were good both nights in the Highway 10 battle, but finally converted and got the bounces offensively on Saturday in a good rebound on home ice. Two big divisional games this weekend including a heavyweight tilt in Weyburn on Friday.

This Week:  Oct. 25th @ Weyburn / Oct. 26th vs. Estevan

Top Scorer: Caden Drury - 23 points in 11 games

5. Humboldt Broncos (6-3-1)

In a quiet week for the Broncos, it was youngster and local product Brady Holtvogt who shined with a 30 save shutout in season debut in his hometown.  It gets much busier this week with three games including two up at the Whitney Forum.

This Week: Oct. 22nd vs. Weyburn / Oct. 25th & Oct. 26th @ Flin Flon

Top Scorer: Jacob Strizzi - 16 points in 10 games

6. Kindersley Klippers (7-4-0)

It was a split week thus far (Oct. 21st game vs. ND pending) for the Klippers with a loss in Melfort before rebounding on Sunday vs. Notre Dame. Youngster Jaxon Herchak continues to impress, leading the team in scoring including netting his 1st SJHL goal over the weekend.

This Week: Oct. 21st vs. Notre Dame / Oct. 25th vs. Yorkton / Oct. 26th vs. Yorkton

Top Scorer: Jaxon Herchak - 11 points in 10 games

7. Battlefords North Stars (6-3-1)

In his first two games officially as Head Coach, Martin Smith helped the North Stars to two convincing wins in Wilcox last week. Their stretch of six straight on the road continues with Melfort and La Ronge (X2).

This Week: Oct. 22nd @ Melfort / Oct. 25th & Oct. 26th @ La Ronge

Top Scorer: Nikita Ivashchenko - 14 points in 10 games

8. Flin Flon Bombers (5-6-1)

Struggling to score has been an obstacle for the Bombers this past week as they kicked off their homestand at the Whitney Forum with three goals in their last 3 games.  Homestand doesn’t get much easier with Yorkton and Humboldt coming through this week.

This Week: Oct. 22nd vs. Yorkton / Oct. 25th & Oct 26th vs. Humboldt

Top Scorer: Koen Senft - 13 points in 12 games

9. La Ronge Ice Wolves (5-5-1)

Ice Wolves captured one of two this week but could’ve easily won both. Seems like their top guns like Jacob Cossette and Mason Bueckert are beginning to wake up a bit, but they could still use more.

This Week: Oct. 23rd vs. Yorkton / Oct. 25th & Oct. 26th vs. Battlefords

Top Scorer: Jacob Cossette & Hudson Cameron -  9 points each

10.  Estevan Bruins (3-4-1-1)

Just one game over the week for the Bruins and they dropped a 3-0 decision to the Yorkton Terriers.  Much improved goaltending will keep this team in many games going forward.

This Week: Oct. 25th vs. Melfort / Oct. 26th @ Melville

Top Scorers: Kent Moors & Ewan Rennie - 9 points in 9 games each

11. Notre Dame Hounds (2-10-0)

Allowing four goals against in four of their 5 games isn’t a recipe to success especially for a team that struggles to score goals. Neka Jean continues to produce in his rookie campaign.

This Week: Oct. 21st @ Kindersley / Oct. 25th @ Nipawin

Top Scorer: Neka Jean - 10 points in 9 games

12. Nipawin Hawks (1-10-1)

A young team continues to experience growing pains early in the season. Hawks have given up a league-high 59 goals in 12 games so far this season.

This Week: Oct. 25th vs. Notre Dame

Top Weekly Scorer: Will Whitter, Carter Anderson, Finley Radloff, & Konnor Watson - 7 points each
