Warmer weather increases pedestrian collision risk, police warn

As the temperature rises, RPS urge to stay vigilant, warning that warmer weather brings a higher risk of pedestrian collisions.

REGINA — As temperatures rise, more people are out walking and riding bikes or scooters in our city, warns the Regina Police Service.

“The Regina Police Service would like to remind the public that ensuring our streets are safe is a shared responsibility by all who are using them,” the service said in a post on social media on Friday.

In just the past 26 hours police have been called to two collisions involving pedestrians and vehicles. A seven-year old female and a 19 year-old female were both injured in separate incidents, the RPS said.
