REGINA - Some people in Regina heard a loud bang that echoed across the city just after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Soon after, sirens were heard blaring from the Regina Refinery Complex.
Regina Fire and Protective Services posted on their social media account that they were on the scene, in “stand-by” mode, as on-site firefighters seemed to have the situation in hand.
The Canadian Press has reported that two workers were assessed for minor injuries and that Federated Co-operatives Ltd. says the blaze has been contained.
It says it does not know the cause of the fire and will provide more information once available.
The refinery provides petroleum products to gas retailers in Western Canada.
