REGINA - NDP MLA for Regina Â鶹ÊÓƵ Albert Aleana Young says she has been cleared by the Conflict of Interest Commissioner over social media posts she had made.

The complaint had been filed with the Commissioner by Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance Jim Reiter, pointing to several social media posts Young had posted promoting her cheese shop. The Commissioner launched an investigation of Younh over allegations that she was promoting her business in violation of the Act.

On Tuesday, Young issued the following statement on the matter:

“Last week, I was informed by the provincial Conflict of Interest Commissioner that I did not violate the conflict of interest act, as was alleged by the Sask. Party Minister of Finance and Deputy Premier Jim Reiter.

“I look forward to moving past this investigation and continuing to advocate on behalf of my constituents in Regina Â鶹ÊÓƵ Albert and on behalf of Saskatchewan’s incredible small business owners."
