REGINA - Road closures remain in place in southern Saskatchewan after the winter storm that took place on Sunday.
As of Monday morning, Highway Hotline was reporting there was still a large portion of Highway 1 closed between Moose Jaw and Swift Current. There is also a portion of Highway 11 closed around the Chamberlain area. Highway 2 and 36 south to the US border remains closed as well as of Monday morning. A portion of Highway 39 southeast of Moose Jaw is closed as well.
Travel not recommended warnings remain in place for several other roads throughout southern Saskatchewan.
SaskPower has also been busy trying to restore power outages reported in the Moose Jaw and surrounding areas. As of 9 a.m., they report crews continue work to restore power safely and quickly to customers in the City of Moose Jaw, Mortlach, Caron, Caronport, Briercrest, Avonlea, Rouleau, Belle Plaine, Marquis, Tuxford, Buffalo Pound, Drink Water, Riverhurst, Spring Valley and surrounding areas, however they are not able to provide estimated time frames.
