WIEBE
It is with heavy hearts that my husband, Chris, and I announce the birth and passing of our precious son, Alyosha Nicodemus Wiebe. Alyosha was born on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, at 12:53 p.m., weighing 4 lbs 2 oz at 37 weeks, 2 days, via elective c section. We prepared for Alyosha to get as much medical support as he needed, from best case scenario to worst.
We heard Alyosha cry right when he was born, and our hearts were lifted at the sound of his voice! He peed everywhere - what a little man! Alyosha initially was very strong, and his NICU team confidently brought him up to the NICU once they felt that he was stable. However, once they got up to the NICU, there was a sudden change as they struggled with different anatomy in Alyosha’s umbilical cord to get his IV in. Blood loss from this ultimately led him to struggle and his little lungs got very tired. We were able to intubate him and were blessed with an afternoon and evening with him but knew that he was very tired and wouldn’t be able to recover from what he had been through.
Together with our families, we spent the afternoon and evening kissing and loving on Alyosha in every way possible. He was baptized, and we sung our church blessing over him. Then, in the later evening, Chris and I knew we had to remove the breathing tube and just hold Alyosha with any time we had left. We got to have him on his mama’s chest and were incredibly blessed to have a half hour with him with no breathing support.
As Alyosha went to be with Jesus, we sung songs to him and snuggled him close. He passed just shortly before 8:00 p.m. that evening. We loved every moment we had with Alyosha and would do it all over again exactly the same.
A Celebration of Alyosha’s Life will be held on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Hildebrandt Chapel in Caronport, SK. Pastor Josh Knowles will officiate and interment will take place in Caronport Cemetery. Those not able to attend may view the service by going to .
