Lawrence Boulding

Lawrence (Larry) Boulding, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2025. Larry's 70 years were filled with love and laughter, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Michalene, his soulmate and the love of his life. Together, they built a legacy at the farm, standing by each other's side through thick and thin, truly embodying the phrase “until death do us part." Larry was the proud father of three children Daylene Brodt (Michael), Jaylene Cousins (Brett) with their children Thomas and Flora; and Richard Boulding (Yvonne) along with their children Rowan and Arlow. His children and grandchildren were truly the pride of his life, and each moment spent with family brought him immeasurable happiness.

Larry’s warmth extended beyond his immediate family to all those fortunate enough to call him a friend. We lost count of the number of times we heard, “he is hilarious.” He had an infectious laugh and always knew when to throw out the perfect one-liner into a conversation you didn't think he was listening to. Extremely witty but also a patient listener, when he spoke, you paid attention, so you didn't miss the punchline and the sparkle in his blue eyes when he was about to tell you a story or plotting some sort of scheme. No amount of words can explain the love, laughter, and life he brought to this world.

We have too many memories to count with Larry, each one a blend filled with laughter, adventure, and invaluable lessons. A lifelong fan of sports, Larry's passion for football, hockey, and curling was infectious. As an avid crib player, Larry never missed a chance to remind you of his victory—often before you even realized the game was over! He loved how aerodynamic he felt after a home haircut and would always joke that he was “prettier than a pinto pony.” We listened intently to his stories of being a “professional transport technician” across the prairie provinces, always reminding us that he had seen more miles out of his rearview mirror than we had seen out of our windshield. Larry loved fishing with a passion, but his trips always seemed to end up rained out—making them the best way to end a drought!

We fondly remember him whistling to music, always a beat or two off but keeping up with the tune. Most importantly, we will cherish the lessons he taught us, from fixing fence lines to finding practical solutions involving duct tape for everyday problems. He saw the beauty and humour in life and reminded us to “never take life too seriously because you will never get out of it alive”.

Our family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to Larry’s favourite nurses (you know who you are ♥) who consistently showed him compassion and treated him with the respect he deserved. We would also like to extend special appreciation to Dr. B. Richardson and her team for their support. As we remember Larry today—and always—we celebrate not just his life but also how he brightened ours through laughter and love. Though he may no longer be physically present among us, his spirit will forever live on within our hearts as we carry forward his legacy of joyfulness into our own lives. Larry has found his place, as John Denver sang, "Country roads, take me home to the place I belong," and we will always cherish his memory. We love you three, because two just isn’t enough!

Please note at Larry’s request that there will be no public services, but family and friends are invited to leave tributes at . In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please donate to Regina Cat Rescue to honour the memory of Lawrence (Larry) Boulding.
