Stephen Cory Burback (September 22, 1977, to April 07, 2025)

AKA -TT & Benny Hill

A husband, Dad, son, brother, nephew, grandson, son in law and friend, gone too soon.

After a lengthy brave and courageous battle with cancer, Steve passed away peacefully with his wife, April and two boys Chandler and Preston by his side in Spirit River April 7th, 2025.

September 22nd, 1977, a boy was born in Yorkton SK, destined to be a hard working, farm loving, outdoor enthusiast from the beginning. An amazing gift to the world was born on this autumn day.

Stephen grew up on the Burback family farm in Togo SK, it is here his passion for farming, fishing, and love for the outdoors began.

He enjoyed many activities over the years, forced into Ukrainian dancing at the age of 4, he loved it and showed off his talent at every social and wedding event! Stephen also had a musical talent; he played the drums in the KCI Junior and Senior bands. He loved curling and this passion followed him all through his years, played hockey with the Togo Terriers. He loved fishing on the river and hunting with his Uncle Louie, downhill skiing at Duck Mountain Ski Hill, Spending time at the cabin and water skiing on Madge Lake, quadding in the valley and hanging out with the Togo Boys.

He completed his elementary years at Togo school and his Junior and Senior high years at Kamsack Comprehensive Institute, making his way to the University of Saskatchewan to pursue his Agriculture Degree.

After University Steve made his way to the Alberta Peace Country, he quickly adapted to the Alberta North working in the agriculture industry for a few years before transitioning to the Oilfield.

It was in Spirit River AB where he met his wife in 2002 (in the bar, how fitting! Lol) It was a match meant to be, they were married April 17th, 2004. It was Spirit River where they built their life together over the next almost 21 years. Welcoming their son, Chandler in 2004 and their second son, Preston in 2007. Steve and April enjoyed spending their time camping, fishing, curling, quadding, being hockey parents and loving every minute of being a family. Steve was a dedicated spouse and proud father; he was a hard worker and took pride in providing for his family. Even after transitioning to the Oilfield, he kept his farming passion alive, often helping local farm families during harvest and seeding, he cherished every minute.

Steve had a laugh that would light up any room, he was the life of the party, the guy in the room, everyone loved. He worked hard and played hard, he truly was one of a kind and anyone that knew him would strongly agree he was one of the best.

He will be forever missed and loved by his wife April, sons, Chandler and Preston, mother, Jean, Brothers and families, David, Sheri and their children Olivia and Nicholas: Chad,

Amanda and their children Zachary, Jacob and Meredith. Mother and father-in-law, Larry and Marguerite. Steve also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
