It is with sadness we announce the passing of Anita Sue Folgizan on Sunday January 19, 2025, at the age of 84. Anita was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on October 16, 1940.
Anita, or Nita or Nanazan as she was often called, was known for her bubbly, kind nature, being a fun and generous person with a smile that captivated others. She sincerely enjoyed learning and talking with people including the likes of Liberace, Harry Belafonte, Mike Tyson and Pinball Clemons. Anita had an amazing knack for sharing stories with detail and humour; she was known to light up a room with her smile and personality. When Anita was young, she loved to play sports, swim, dance, enjoyed sweets and a good party. Although she always enjoyed animals, particularly horses, cats and dogs, Anita truly loved her family.
She is predeceased by her parents, Marjorie Mary and Leo King; first husband Paul Douglas Wilcox; second husband William Steve (Bill) Folgizan; sisters Leona King and Eva Maude King; brother-in-law Ray (Alvera) Marsh; and sister-in-law Allison Scott (Terry Jordan).
Anita is survived by her children Scott Wilcox (Kim Putko) of Saskatoon; Glen (Lauren) Wilcox and their children Xander and Ava of Edmonton; Teresa-Marie (Doug) Mintenko of Moose Jaw and their children Derek (Bri) Mintenko, Jered (Danielle) Mintenko and Carlie (Shaun) Sawatsky. Anita is also survived by her sisters Alvera Marsh of Saskatoon and Lee Ann King (Brian Tepsa) of Boundary Bay; brother Terry (Barbara) Jordon of Quadra Island; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff at Chateau St. Michael’s for their love and support for Anita over her final months with us.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring (date to be determined) at W. J. Jones and Son Funeral Home, 474 Hochelaga St W, followed by the interment at the Sunset Cemetery, Moose Jaw. Della Ferguson will officiate.
