Unity Cardinal Baseball Association hosted a tournament featuring teams from Fargo and Minot.

Gun safety instructor Bob Burns said that, since the hunter safety program began 12 years earlier, out of the 26,480 students who had graduated from the class in Saskatchewan, there had only been 27 accidents with two fatalities. In the same time period, those who had not taken the course were involved in 480 firearm accidents, resulted in 96 fatalities.

Premier Allan Blakeney was scheduled to make stops in Unity and Wilkie on his summer tour of the province.

Teams taking part in a Unity Cardinal Baseball Association tournament were coming from Fargo and Minot, North Dakota., as well as from Saskatoon, Kindersley, Eston and North Battleford.

Some 400 people attending the Curtis Brown Celebrity Supper and Silent Auction raised thousands of dollars to go towards new ice surfaces in both the Unity curling and skating rinks.

Luseland Sparks, Brownies, Girl Guides and Pathfinders and their leaders hosted a special celebration for the 80th anniversary of Girl Guides in Luseland.

Linsey Keller of McLurg High School won a national $1,000 scholarship from the Miller Thomson Foundation.

Delta Co-op held a grand opening for their new gas station and C-store on the north service road, with long-time co-op member Jack Stephenson cutting a cardlock card holding the ribbon.

St. Peter’s School held a graduation ceremony for their Grade 7 class, with awards presented to Lyndon Brown for highest average and Blair Brandle and Kailey Baum for citizenship.
