Unity RCMP still investigating attempted traffic stop where vehicle fled from police

Police received a report of possible drug production at a residence due to large cloud of steam being emitted, however members discovered the steam was coming from a vent and required no further police action.

Unity Report

RCMP received a complaint of an adult supplying vape paraphernalia to youth, but the complainant was unwilling to provide a statement. Insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a single-vehicle collision on Highway 14 near Unity. There were no injuries, and no charges were laid. Reported for insurance purposes.

Members attempted a traffic stop where the vehicle fled from police. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a report of a single-vehicle collision on Highway 21 near Unity. There were no injuries, and no charges were laid. Reported for insurance purposes.

Members assisted Saskatoon Police Services by obtaining a statement from an individual in the detachment area.

Police received a complaint of fraud. This matter is still under investigation.

CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction on Highway 14 near Unity. Reported for information purposes.

RCMP received a report of a vehicle collision with a train. The vehicle got stuck in a large snow drift on the railway track and the vehicle driver was unable to move the vehicle before the train arrived. The rail crew attempted to stop the train but were unsuccessful. There were no injuries, and no charges were laid. Reported for insurance purposes.

Police attempted a traffic stop where the vehicle fled from members. This matter is still under investigation.

There were also three false alarms and two false 911 calls.

Wilkie Report

CP Rail reported a train blocking the railway crossing in Wilkie. Reported for information purposes.

RCMP received a complaint of fraud but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of possible drug production at a residence due to a large cloud of steam being emitted in the area of the house. Members attended and discovered the steam was coming from a vent. No further police action required.

Members conducted a well-being check at the request of a family member.

There was also one false alarm.

Macklin Report

RCMP received a report of a residential fire. Macklin Fire Department extinguished the fire, which was not suspicious in nature.

Police received a complaint of theft but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Members received a report of a hit and run causing damage to a vehicle. There are no suspects at this time. Reported for insurance purposes.

RCMP are investigating a complaint of identity fraud.

Police received a complaint of disturbing the peace. Members spoke to the subject of complaint and issued a verbal warning.
