U18 Outlaws tame the Tigers in their return

Hockey fans in Wilkie were thrilled to see the U18 Wilkie Outlaws back on the ice this season, after several years with no team in this division.

WILKIE - The Wilkie Outlaws U18 team made a triumphant return to the Hi-Way 14 hockey league Thursday night, as they hosted the Kerrobert/Luseland U18 Tigers in their first game in several years.

The party started early as Carter Wakelin scored seven minutes into the first, and with the strength of two short-handed goals, the Outlaws never looked back as they cruised to a 7-2 victory.

Wakelin ended the night with 2 goals and an assist. Keyan Sittler also had a good evening on the scoresheet with a three-point night (1G, 2A).

Hayden Meszaros (2G), Brett Bannerman, and Kyler Lorenz rounded out the home team scoring.

Landon Schell and Cole Patton replied for the visiting squad.

Avery Kohlman took the loss for the Tigers while Damion Laybourne brought home the W for the Outlaws in a strong goaltending performance.

Wilkie’s next game will be on the road in Unity against the Lazers, while Kerrobert/Luseland travel up highway 31 to visit the Macklin Mohawks
