KERROBERT, MACKLIN, UNITY - Kerrobert, Macklin, and Unity high school football teams play their final regular season game before playoffs begin Oct. 30 week.
Kerrobert Rebels coach, Troy Snider says, “Our team is 18 players this season, 12 from Kerrobert and six from Luseland. We are currently 3-0 on the season. We have a nice blend of veterans and rookies this year and our players are working hard to get better every day."
The Rebels will host Kindersley Oct. 8 for their annual Friday night lights game, previously defeating the Kobras in an earlier game this season. Their final regular season game will be a home game against the Unity Warriors.
Kerrobert’s football program has translated into the post high school game for two players as Clark Snider from Kerrobert is playing for the Kamloops Broncos and Jacob Ambros from Kerrobert is playing for the Saskatoon Hilltops.
Macklin’s only win was against Eatonia and that is the team they will face in their final regular season game on Oct. 8.
The Unity Warriors’ only loss was to Kindersley. The team is playing an exhibition game against John Paul II Collegiate Oct. 7 and will play their final regular season game against Kerrobert on the road.
The UCHS Warriors have been following the successful post high school season for former Warrior quarterback, Zenon Orobko, as he is playing for the undefeated Regina Thunder of the PJFL.
While Wilkie no longer has a football team in this season, Broncs alumni player Jacob Mamer is in his third year with the U of S Huskies.
SHSAA football will begin playoffs Oct. 30 with semifinals the following weekend on Nov. 6 and provincials taking place Nov. 13.
