Making connections at women's horse retreat

Four-day retreat included something for everyone, including the horses.

UNITY - The second annual Pinch’r Ranch Ladies Retreat celebrated horsemanship and balanced living.

Organized by ranch owner Paula Sittler, seven women and their horses had the opportunity to learn from one of the best in horse/ human connection. The four-day, all-inclusive experience ran from Aug. 22 to 25, and included massage therapy, saddle fitting demonstrations, daily yoga and meditation, a fireside trekking and horseback adventure, visiting miniature livestock, and a private photo shoot.

Sittler was searching for a horse/human retreat and was unable to find something that suited her, so she decided to create her own.

With help from her husband, Colin, and friends Debbie and Gary Ruley, Sittler can accommodate seven horse and rider pairs.

“I’m living my dream of being able to offer the opportunity of exceptional horsemanship in a peaceful, supportive environment; the weekend is always a priceless experience and Pinch’r Ranch is just the perfect venue,” said Sittler.

The retreat has had visitors from near and as far as Davidson and Swift Current. Sittler plans to continue the yearly event as long as there is interest.
