The Luseland Community Development Committee held their annual Harvest Festival Saturday, Sept. 9. Many businesses and organizations participated in the event, by offering games, food options and activities for kid  A roast beef supper was hosted by Ranger Electric at their shop with entertainment following the supper by local artist Frank Beausoleil.

In addition to the day’s end supper and entertainment, the day was filled with more than 20 activities, two of which had a give-back option to the Luseland Hall and the Luseland Museum country school sign project. The day was full of community camaraderie.

As the Luseland Swimming Pool season ends, we now get prepared for the beginning of the arena season. We are currently looking for a facility labourer to step into Ray Bergen’s shoes as he heads into retirement. We would like to thank Ray for the many years of service at our arena. For more information on the duties involved, please contact Terry Reiber. Interested applicants can leave their resumes at the town office or submit them to [email protected].

Luseland Minor Hockey numbers continue to stay steady, and they plan to kick off the season with a hockey school set tentatively for Oct. 13-15. It will be a sponsored hockey school with all registration fees going towards the Rink Improvement Project. This hockey school is open to all communities and further details will be coming shortly.

The Luseland Museum is currently seeking donations for a country school sign project. Their goal is to preserve rural history by placing a sign at all unmarked country school sites in the Luseland area. Donations can be made at the town office and a tax receipt will be issued. Thank you for helping with this project to preserve significant heritage sites.

The Luseland Swimming Pool has also posted their 2024 lesson schedule so people can plan their summer holidays well in advance. You can find next year’s lesson schedule on the Luseland Swimming Pool Facebook page.
