Kerrobert Rec. prepares for spring/summer work/activity

With rink season over, the Kerrobert recreation department is now busy preparing for spring and summer

KERROBERT — Hockey and curling season has ended for Kerrobert and that puts spring and summer work and programming on the forefront for Kerrobert’s recreation team.

Bobbi Hebron, Kerrobert’s recreation director, says,” The rink is finished for the season and the guys have hit the ground running getting things ready for ball season and the pool. Opening procedures for each of these venues begins long before they actually happen, so our team is quite busy.”

“Our whole staff is just very excited to see the enthusiasm about spring and summer events and we are pumped to get our facilities ready to host. Recreation ball will be back this season and more minor ball games and tournament. Combine that with many weddings, June swim lessons for KCS students and multiple other great community events on the agenda for Kerrobert. April is always an exciting month in recreation and this year more than ever after two long years of COVID. “

Kerrobert is in the process of hiring for the summer season, including lifeguards for the pool.

Communities in Bloom committee are meeting at the end of March to start plans on upcoming projects throughout the town.

Hebron also says there are a few minor projects on tap, but nothing major. Looking after the little projects help ensure every venue and program is prepared. There will be a number of little things to attend to at the rink before it opens again in September of 2022.

April provides a great opportunity to get caught up on winter things as well as get started on the spring to-do list.

Kerrobert Minor Hockey will hold their annual meeting on March 30 and their minor hockey awards night on April 6. A spring market is set to take place April. 9, the Kerrobert Music Festival is back to in-person performances and the Kerrobert Wildlife Federation has re-scheduled their wildlife supper and awards for April 23.
