WILKIE — Following an exciting and busy weekend with Jump into Summer Days held June 17, Wilkie also had the benefit of a circus in town June 20.
Circus Wonderland included two shows with afternoon and evening performances, promising a magical adventure including suspense and jaw-dropping feats. Each show was approximately one and a half hours long.
“Very entertaining,” says Donna Hoffinger.
“It was an Alice in Wonderland theme The musician and Mad Hatter characters were very funny.”
Hoffinger says she took her daughter to the evening show at Wilkie SaskCan Centre and estimated there were over 50 people of all ages in attendance.
“The Inflatable slide tipped over during intermission with several kids (including mine) on it so that was scary. No medical assistance was required, only minor injuries,” Hoffinger reports.
“Staff responded quickly to get kids out and stand it up again. They started to limit how many kids were allowed at a time after that.”
Wilkie resident, Marion Askildt, posted on social media stating, “Just saw 4:30 circus, it was fantastic! Hope we can have this more often.”
Attendee, Patti Jaindl, says, “We attended the evening performance, and it was a pretty good turnout, as most of the chairs they had set up were used. The clown was so entertaining, and all the acts were very well done, which included trapeze, juggling, etc. The whole show was really good, and I think everyone was impressed.”
This travelling circus was scheduled to perform in Biggar June 21 and then on to North Battleford for two days, June 22-23. Their entire touring schedule was included on their website.
